Declaración de Solidaridad con Black Lives Matters

Latina Associates for Collaborative Engagement (LACE) de Oregón expresa su solidaridad con la comunidad de color y el movimiento Black Lives Matter.
Lamentamos la muerte de George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery y un sin número de otros que se han perdido a manos de la violencia policial y el racismo sistémico. Estamos con nuestros hermanx de color y condenamos estos actos de odio y deshumanización que siguen causando daño y sufrimiento en todo nuestro país.

Rechazamos la supremacía blanca en todas sus expresiones y reconocemos que el racismo sistémico está arraigado en nuestra forma de vivir.
Les pedimos que se unan a nosotros para comprometerse con las siguientes acciones:
​

• Confesar nuestra propia culpabilidad personal, prejuicios implícitos y comportamientos, y trabajar para extirpar lo que se ha incrustado en cada uno de nosotros.
• Comprometerse con la equidad racial; mirar hacia adentro y ser explícito acerca de ser antirracista a través de nuestras acciones y trabajo.
• Reflexionar y desafiar las injusticias raciales heredadas de nuestra historia de colonialismo, incluyendo la asimilación y la elección de defender el status quo de los sistemas supremacistas blancos.
• Reconocer que nuestras comunidades latinas negras se han visto afectadas por el racismo sistémico perpetuado por latinos que no son negros. Trabajar para honrar y amplificar el trabajo que nuestros hermanos y hermanas de color han estado haciendo durante décadas, y centrando totalmente sus experiencias.
• Reconocer que la supremacía blanca existe a nivel global y opera entre sí dentro de todas las comunidades. Debemos confrontar y alterar las narrativas anti-negras, y educar a las personas de nuestra comunidad para que hagan lo mismos.
• Reconocer, elevar, honrar y celebrar la historia y las contribuciones actuales de las comunidades negras en toda América Latina, el Caribe y los Estados Unidos.
• Construir relaciones y colaborar con organizaciones lideradas por personas negras en Oregón.
• Educarnos en torno a la historia de Oregón en lo que se refiere a la exclusión racial y su tratamiento de los pueblos negros e indígenas.
• Aplicar un lente crítico sobre cómo incorporamos la justicia social y racial en nuestro trabajo como consultores y profesionales.​

LACE Statement of Solidarity with Black Lives Matter

Latina Associates for Collaborative Engagement (LACE) of Oregon expresses its solidarity with the Black community, and the Black Lives Matter movement.
We mourn the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others who have been lost at the hands of police violence and systemic racism. We stand with our Black hermanxs and condemn these acts of hate and dehumanization that continue to cause harm and suffering across our country.

We reject white supremacy in all its expressions and acknowledge that systemic racism is ingrained in our way of living. We ask others to join us in pledging to the following actions:
​

• Confess our own personal culpability, implicit bias, and behaviors, and work to excise what has been embedded in each of us.
• Commit to racial equity; look inward and be explicit about being anti-racist through our actions and work.
• Reflect upon, and challenge the racial injustices inherited from our history of colonialism, including assimilation and choosing to uphold the status quo of white supremacist systems.
• Acknowledge that our Black Latinx communities have been impacted by systemic racism that non-Black Latinxs perpetuate. Honor and amplify the work that our Black brothers and sisters have been doing for decades, and wholly center their experiences.
• Acknowledge that white supremacy exists on a global level and operates from within all communities, that we must confront and disrupt anti Blackness narratives, and educate the people in our community to do the same.
• Recognize, elevate, honor, and celebrate the history and current contributions of Black communities in our cultures throughout Latin America, the Caribbean, and the United States.
• Build relationships and collaborate with Black-led organizations in Oregon.
• Educate ourselves around Oregon’s history as it pertains to racial exclusion and its treatment of Black and Indigenous peoples.
• Apply a critical lens of how we incorporate social and racial justice into our work as consultants and professionals.
